Mani - Phesto

Below are notes that I'm starting to take on how I want to operate.
You are free to read and learn and even free to disagree
No one says you must agree with me

I will make my entire working life fun. Life's too short not to enjoy what a person does for a living. I will enjoy the work I do, and the colleagues around me. I will never work for the sole purpose of making money, rather, I will work for opportunities to learn. I will strive to be the first guy to volunteer for interesting new work as opposed to dreading something and being the last to hand something in.

Money is meant to be given away. Money is meant to be invested. There has got to be more to life than just working for money, I think the whole point of a career is missed if that's the point.

Watching People Communicate

i was sitting today at a boardroom table watching three higher up people at Rogers talk. One thing I noticed is that they are all extremely good communicators.
You know how some people are only just the "mouth" and nothing else? What I noticed was that when these three people speak, who I assume are quite successful, you get the sense that they are indeed sincere and carry authority because I think they really are hard working people.

I know that there are certain skills that I want to improve, and two of them are writing and speaking.
The third is how to pull the puck closer to my body, change the angle of my shot, and fool the goalie.

What to do if you are involved in a Traffic Accident and Win

Hi all,
I had a MINOR victory today, and due to my joy, I'm going to share with you what to do if you are involved in a traffic accident. For those of you living in Toronto, pay attention.

So, you crash your car.

1. Get out of the car immediately, in case something blows up. Only if it's safe later, retrieve what you need. Don't stand on the road or you may get run over. In my case, I put some pylons on the road to prevent cars from hitting my car. Be very careful if you're on the highway, the initial might not kill you but the 2nd or 3rd car passing may.

2. Grab a witness. You should always have a pen, paper handy in your car, not in the glove compartment, but somewhere within arms reach of you being buckled in. So you don't have it? Well get moving, tape it there. Getting a witness is more important than anything else. People saw your accident, more than likely they'll help you out if you're friendly to them.

3. What to do when the cops arrive: Don't volunteer information. Answer the cops respectfully and honestly. Keep your mouth shut. I can't emphasize it enough. Give only information that will help the situation. If you have an idiot cop, he might think he's a hero by writing you a ticket. You don't want that to happen.

4. Don't give a statement. If the cop gives you the option to not leave a statement, take that option. Say you are mentally screwed up at the moment and are incapable of giving a good statement. Then, put off handing in that statement as long as you can. Avoid it at all costs. If you must give a statement, go find a lawyer-friend and go over the statement with your lawyer friend first. Why? Cuz the cop knows he will take the statement and mess you up badly with it in court. Let the cop hunt you down for the statement.

5. Sketch/photograph the scene as best you can before you leave it.

6. Tow truck drivers: are generally nice guys. but some of them may be vultures. Insist on them taking you to a body shop you trust. Don't make them tow you to their own home shop. If they tow to their home shop, your insurer has to pay for the tow and the storage fees. Try to avoid that happening.

7. If you are served a traffic violation ticket: go home right away after you have calmed down, and contact the court and dispute the ticket no matter what. It's not the fine that kills you, it's the points. you DO NOT WANT the points. Those points will hurt you down the road for insurance. Do this as soon as possible.

8. If you miss the deadline then hand deliver it to the courts if you can.

What are you waiting for? Go see your doctor, and get a doctor's note for PHYSIO, CHIROPRACTOR and MASSAGE THERAPY. You have GOT to go get yourself healed up immediately.

9. When you receive your trial notice, don't treat it as an invoice. The trial notice looks like an invoice and if you pay, you admit guilt, and then you lose. Don't do that.

10. You don't need to hire X-Coppers, Points, etc. You can represent yourself. But if you feel like you need to hire someone to represent you, then don't hire X-coppers and points anyway. Hire directly the Ex-Cop who is subcontracted by X-coppers and Points directly and skip paying the middleman who does nothing. If you want the name of an ex cop, I have one, contact me directly.

11. On the day of the trial, show up 30 minutes early and sit outside your courtroom. Gather your thoughts and don't freak out. You made it this far (usually a year and a bit later) so what's there to freak out about? Keep your eyes open. You are looking for the following people:
A. The judge
B. The prosecutor
C. The Cop who wrote you the ticket.

When you see the prosecutor go in, go check in with him or her immediately. Tell her the nature of your offence. Ask him or her if you may have the option of pleading a lesser charge. Study the traffic code laws in your area, and find out what the smallest available related charge and smallest number of points are, and ask the prosecutor that if you plead guilty, will you be able to get that charge. You will unlikely be able to get zero points unless you are some superstar arguer.

Watch out for the cop. If the cop doesn't show up you win automatically. If the cop does show up, you can try the following trick: Get your friend/family member to go up and speak with the prosecutor. Ask the prosecutor if you can change the date of your court appointment due to some other good valid reason. I don't know what is another good valid reason but there must be some out there. By stalling, maybe you can pick another day that the cop won't show up.

Think like the cop would. If your court date is on a friday afternoon do you think the cop is likely to show up? What about the first thing after lunch?

Contact the courts to find out how much trouble it is to change your court dates around. I have no idea how you can do it but that's one way to get around it I guess. One of my parents once got free off a ticket because the cop had a dentist appointment on the day of their trial.

12. If you win, contact me and tell me how you did it, and how you would improve upon what I've told you above.

13. Change the rules: If you won, or loss, resolve to make the world a better place by finding out how you could take action to make sure what happened to you doesn't happen again. For me, I'm going to go to the highway people and demand that they improve their signage which caused me to go through what I went through.

I may walk around with my eyes wide open
But what I see around me may surprise
Even though many around me may be hopin'
They'll be shocked to know what I see and what they see aren't the same

I don't take hints, I don't even acknowledge em
Maybe that makes me clueless I don't feel the pain
Perhaps I need a 1000 lb anvil on my toe
In order for me to get the clue and the hint around me
